Dealing with juveniles who have a mental disorder is challenging for all youth worker, especially officers who provide direct supervision. As a youth worker your role as an observer is critical to the treatment process of juveniles. Youth workers are often faced with difficult challenges when supervising youths with mental disorders. The package covers understanding mental illness in a juvenile correctional facility, as well as identifying, supervising and treating these youth. This 3-course package awards 9.5 contact hours.
